One World One Night

This quilt was made for a fundraiser at St. Katherine College in California.  Yikes! How did this happen?  I had made a quilt for Maria in California who told her friend about it her happiness with her quilt I made for her. Her friend Katherine thought it would be a great idea to have a quilt at her fundraiser as a piece for a silent auction. It took us awhile to agree on a pattern that tied into the theme, but once we figured it out it went fairly fast.  The event was May 18th.  I can't wait to hear how this added to the event.
Thanks Diane

My favorite time to see the quilt.  It show cases the strangest parts and looks so vivid because it is wet.

"Apron Couple" Quilt

This quilt was made for the "Apron Couple" They are married now and this was my gift to them.  Theorder was for a blue and green quilt for their bed.  I called the prospective "groom to be" in a mad panic after I realized there are many blue/green combos. Ryan being a very calm young man told me, "No worries, don't sweat over this". AAhhh . Here we go.  I like creating this type of quilt.  I can run wild and free as every quilter must do!  The below picture is it at its final resting place before it hits the outside for a "photo op", then to the wedding in a nice white bag bought from the Container Store with whatever ribbon I can find in the basement to dress it up. For some reason I am so in love with that washing machine picture.  I'll have to work through this weird thing.

Here it is on the bed getting a rest before it goes to the new couple.

The paisley was the inspiration piece.

In the back yard.  I definitelycan tell where I ran out of blue.  On the bed you cannot notice it as much as here.

The all so cool invitation. Ride on.

California Dreaming

This Christmas we went to San Diego to visit friends and see what this city was about.  While there we spent time with my college friend  Maria and her husband Michael.  After taking a tour of her home I decided she needed a quilt.  I found the blue, then we went from there. This is what I came up with. It is being sent today and I hope it works well for her spare bedroom.
There is more to this story.  While there, Maria told me of a friend who is single and I told her of my my friend who is single, so in February I sent them both an email.  The status as of now is that they are dating.  That's all I know. I think that is enough.
I also had another revolution while in San Diego and this transpired after I saw my friends house with NO STUFF anywhere!.  Her house had a very peaceful feeling.. So, of course I asked where her "stuff" was.  She replied, "When something comes in, something goes out." mmm so I have gone through may basement and realized I am probably not going to wear those shoes that have been sitting their for a couple of years.. oh and that exercise ball...mmmm just look at me! I am calling  mine cleaning..."phases" but I have taken bags of clothes out along with "stuff." You know, it feels much better. I am still here and it IS a good feeling.  Thanks Maria.

Happy Quilt

Here I am again with that weird washing machine fetish! Just look at it.  It is screaming, "I am ready for my new home".  The colors looks so vivid and it makes me excited that this is the end of this process.  It is almost like it is wrapped up and smiling at me!  This quilt was made as a gift for a commitment ceremony. It will have a new home in Tacoma, Washington.  It is only about a year late. (I hate when that happens)  It started as the flower quilt that had the colors that kept eating each color up. Those squares ended up as a big part of the scrap quilt I previously blogged about.  I think the happy couple will enjoy this quilt and it will cheer up their cloudy days.  Lets face we all need  a little cheering up. :)

Just thought the flowers were fun.

Flowers

This flower fabric was  the  inspiration for  this quilt. I found a few other colors  to go with  it, without over powering the flowers.

For some odd reason I liked ths picture so I thought I would share it wtih you.

The Fairway

This blanket was made for my dear old dad.  This will keep him close to the golf course and that will make him happy.  I know this for sure. Trust me. Merry Christmas.
