Judy's Quilt

This was a winter scrap quilt rescued by my childhood friend Judy.  I used all of my warm scraps and started sewing them together. I love how this came together.  It is warm and cozy.  If I could pick my favorite colors these would definitely be them.

Madeline's Happy Birthday Marvel Quilt.

This quilt was made for Madeline my first great niece!  She knows each movie and character by heart and loves what they stand for.  She spent the whole party wrapped up in her warm cozy quiltt.  I thinks she liked it.

Melanie's Quilt

This quilt was a challenge. It was made with the intention to be modern and it finally got there. It took me awhile to figure out how to offset the center design and that was what made it gave it the modern vibe.. Once I figured it out it just flew.  This quilt definitely represents the person I gave it to.

Patti's Quilt

This quilt was made for a dear friend who is having a bout with an illness.  She is a die hard Cubs fan as well as a Indiana Hoosier fan.  Every time I see her she tells me how much she loves her blanket. Score.

Staci's Quilt

This quilt was made for my life-long friend Staci. She lost her brother unexpectedly and  I thought she needed a little pick me up.  She likes sky blue and I seemed to ignore that request   I'm not sure why that happens. I hope she enjoys her naps underneath this with her beautiful grandkids.

CoCo's Quilt

This quit was made my from my friend Coco's Cancer walk T-Shirts. She chose the background fabric of white with black triangles. It really complimented her T-shirts nicely.  It resides in beautiful Bloomington IN.

Sherie's Quilt

This quilt was made for my high school friend Sherie.  In the past month she has lost a sibling and a mother.   I thought a little pick me up may be in order for her.  The picture she sent me of her apartment was very calm and peaceful. I'm not sure how this will work with her decor this is what I cam up with for her apartment. I hope it makes her feel better and makes a nap a little more peaceful.

Mike's Quilt

My dear friend Mike is going through a bout with cancer.  I thought he needed a special blanket to keep him cozy during this process.  He is an avid Cubs and IU fan.  I think this will work out great for him.

Debbie's Quilt

This quilt was made for my dear wild and crazy high school friend Debbie.  We had many fun times and laughs during our formative years together.  They ranged from learning how to drive and driving our parents cars and going to concerts and probably a little bit of drinking here and there. HA! Her mother passed away and she was so distraught I could feel her pain and as usual a blanket was in the making.  Her colors were red and blue and this is what red and blue looked like to me.  This blanket will be residing in beautiful Austin, Texas.

Joe & Leah Ann

These two blankets were made for my brother Joe and his wife. I made his out of left over wool and flannel.  I made it longer because he is on  the taller side. I'm not sure  what color Leah Ann requested but this is what I ended up with for her.  I really liked all the movement in her blanket.  It is kind of a hippy looking quilt which I think will fit her just fine.

A Jacket, A Poncho and a Flannel Shirt

This quilt began with two flannel shirts and a jacket and knit poncho.  The black and white knit is form the poncho. I used the trim of it to trim the edge. The jacket is the purple and it was used to to balance out the flannel shirts.  This was a memory quilt of a friend's parents clothes. I find thee really hard to make because I feel like when the scissors cut the fabric I am tearing a part some one's soul. When its all said and done I am usually very relieved when its completed.

Carolyn's Scraps

This quilt was made for my dear friend Carolyn who lives in beautiful Colorado.  I was visiting  over Christmas and while having dinner with her I realized she needed a quilt from me. I am at a point in my life where everyone I know should have a homemade quilt from me as well as should have something homemade in their home.  I know it warms my heart to have something homemade given to me.
This blanket was made with scraps from another quilt I had made.  I had bought all of this matching fabric from a fabric shop that was closing.  It was very sad due to the closing being from a death.  I could feel a deep sadness in the store so I just wanted to help them out in  a small way.  I did not want to waste a bit of this fabric.

Raechel's Quilt

This quilt was made for a dear friend in Nashville IN.  The task was to make a quilt out of scraps.  I had the middle squares left from a quilt that did not seem to ever get started which made it easier to sew this together.  The squares gave me a base to work around. The other pieces of this quilt were scraps I had left that were used to make it larger and find the scraps a new home.  I really liked how this came together.

Sue's Quilt

This blanket was made for my dear friend Sue. The light blue design matches her plates in her kitchen. I tried to make that the focal point and enhance it with the yellow and gold. Sue lives in Arizona where it is nice and warm. I am hoping this will spend time on her couch and pull her room together and not to keep her warm.  Lucky her.

Triangle Love

I made this blanket for fun.  I wanted to use my triangle pattern from Anna Maria Horner and use some scraps I had sitting around taking up space.  I love the way the colors contrast with each other.  I did the binding and the quilting  myself which I normally would not do but thought I could handle the task.  I went a couple inches over from the natural diagonal line to quilt the quilt on my machine and followed the triangles. This went really fast.  I made it a throw quilt and enjoy how it looks on my couch and sometimes the front porch swing.

It seems to be happy with the flowers. I think they speak to each other.

Quilts for Pulse

This quilt was made on a request from the Orlando Modern Guild.  They sent out an email requesting quilts for the victims families, first responders, doctors and nurses for the people connected to the horrific shooting. They wanted hearts and rainbows lap quilt size 45 by 60. This is my version of the assignment. I can't wait to connect with the person who receives the quilt.  I hope they enjoy them. I decided to make two because I had the fabric and I just enjoy connecting with people like this.

Bright Hand Sewn Quilt

I made this blanket to match my fun bright pillows.  It seemed as though everything became bright after the pillows and so this is what i came up with to compliment the room.  I hands stitched this together to add to the look.  This was a great way to get rid of scraps that began to accumulate. No matter what way I fold it or lie underneath it I love there way it looks.  It happy ups the room!

More lovely.
