Haisley's Pumpkin Quilt

This is Haisley's Pumpkin quilt.  I'm trying to make Pumpkin quilts for all of my great nieces and nephews. I think they are great to remind you of the tine of the year you took the picture as well as they are just so dang cute on them!

Avery Joyse's Baby Quilts

My dear friend Lee is becoming a Grandma for the first time.  Her daughter Leslie is very excited and just bought a groovy house in Broad Ripple. I made her one blanket that I thought my match Avery's room.  I was commissioned by one of her Aunts to take her Grandmother's night gowns and make some baby blankets.  It is always hard to do that but once your realize it will be such a keepsake you just dig in and figure it out.

Blanket I designed for the room.
                                                                   A little closer now.

The cardinals and flip flops were the pajamas.

The gold is what highlights the blue and pinkish night gowns. I quilted this one like crazy to give it a very old look.

                                                                         Closer.

Before I quilted it like crazy due to the puckers in it because of stretching.

Haislee's Baby Blanket

This quilt was made with some of my favorite scraps. I thinks it is very peaceful and calming.  I hope Haislee does too.

Enslee's Pumpkin Quilt

This quilt was made with scraps for my great niece Enslee.  I thought that someday when my niece was looking back at pictures it would be easier to figure out her daughter's age by using  this quilt during the month of October.  I think is serves as a great background for a really sweet baby.
I machine quilted this because it was very puckered in spots.  As I did this it really pulled the puckers out and made it look more finished.

Circle Baby Quilt

This blanket was made for my great niece # 2! I wasn't sure what I was going to make so I just decided to put some pinks together and see how they rested next to each other.  I really like how this turned it and think it would make a great beach blanket. I used Tula Pink's MOXIE pattern to make this fabric flow.

Everly Meets Tula Pink

This blanket was made for a very sweet girl named Everly.  Everly was turning one and the order from her mother was don't buy her anything make her a blanket. After spending a little time with the effervescent Everly,  I was not feeling pink.  I wanted to try Tula Pinks pattern MOXIE and the rest is history. I just started piecing it by following the directions by using scraps. I hand sewed the quilt together and away we go.  I am now empowered to try more new patterns. I hope Everly spends time on this blanket and has many warm, fuzzy memories.

Everly's - "Welcome the World Blanket"

This was made from the scraps of Leslie's blanket.  I love, love, love this combination of fabric.  It definitely says Anna Maria Horner and that is a good thing. Everly is born into a very loving family and a very loving community.

Abigail

This blanket was made for Abigail Sophia.  All I did was take some scraps and  throw them together.  This fits the mothers personality we're not so sure about the newborns.
                                                                    The back side.
After realizing Abigail was getting all of the attention, I felt like older sister Hannah should get something also. So, I  took a pair of old jeans and cut them into three inch squares. Then, I sprayed basting spray on the square and attached fun, hip fabric on to them so that they matched. After realizing  they needed something to be put in, I  made a fun, hip bag.  Now big sister can play with her friends on rainy and hot days!

Lexi

This blanket was make for Lexi.  Her mother is young and hip and this is reflected in the style of the blanket. My dear friend Nancy waited patiently as I chose the colors that she requested so that it would be just right for Lexi and her mother. :)
A little closer now.  I love the energy in the blanket.  I hope this does not reflect the child! Oh my.

Tucker Miles Luchuga

I had a request for a blanket that I had already made but after I saw the baby in his bright yellow,  hip,  newborn ducky sleeper I knew  the blanket my dear friend had picked out was not going to work.  So I made another blanket.(the one you are seeing) out of some scraps.  I left her both of the blankets so she could pick.  If she picks the other one I will be shocked.  I'll keep you posted. You have to admit that is quite a solid name.

Baby Madeline

We have an additon to my family and her name is Madeline Lena.   So of course I had to welcome her with a groovy pink blanket.  It did not quite match the decor of her bedroom but it did brighten up my day.  I figure at this point she does not have a whole lot to say.(literally)  I have a feeling this will be one of many that flow into her life.  Lucky her...or is it me? Great Aunt says alot!

Happy Halloween Madeline

I always wanted to make a quilt for each holiday.  So I am starting with Madeline.  (poor thing) This is her Halloween quilt.  Since she is an October birthday (a great time of the year to be born)  She was blessed with this blanket. Amen to that.

Bella! Welcome to the world!

This blanket has a wild ass story behind it! My friend Cindy has a friend who has a husband who
has testicular cancer so they could not have children.  Shew! So, a friend of this couple was getting her nails done and began talking to the pregnant woman next to her. She confided in her and told how she could not afford this baby and wanted to find it a home. So this woman told of her of this couple and VOILA..Bella now has a happy home. I thought this was such a heart felt happy story I wanted to be a part of it. The theme of the room is "modern monkey" So this is what I came up with. I found the monkey material on E-quilter and had the rest. I quilted it by had hand and voila Bella (great name) is now a hip baby!
